Pass Me That Magazine, Please!

Skylar has began looking at our magazines. At first we were hesitant to let her have them because we were afraid she would just rip them up. But, we soon realized that she actually flips through them and looks at them. Her favorites are the TV Guide, People, and Redbook. If I didn't know better I would think she was actually reading all the tabloid gossip in them.

My 1st Day at Daniel Island Academy

Skylar started at Daniel Island Academy on Monday. She was really excited to be going "bye-bye" with Mommy in the morning. She did really well at school and the teacher said that she would share her toys with her friend Katie when she was crying to try and make her feel better.

"BYE-BYE, BYE-BYE!!!"

Goodbye Exersaucer

We finally decided it was time to take apart Skylar's exersaucer since she is too tall to actually use it anymore. She wanted to sit in it one last time and play before it went off to the magical world of storage.

Skylar decided that crawling and playing on Mom would be a good
substitute for her exersaucer

Reading N My New Chair

Skylar got a Tinkerbell chair a few weeks ago and she loves to sit in it and read her books.

Visit from Auntie Kerrie and Mandi

Last week, Skylar's Auntie Kerrie and Mandi came to stay with us for a few days. Skylar had a great time hanging out with them and showing them some of the sites of Charleston.

Enjoying some nachos at Juanita Greenburg's downtown.

it looked like fun!

Everyone here can tell I'm having fun walking on the pier!

Time 2 Drive

On Sunday, Skylar and I were waiting on Amy in the car, and Skylar decided she wanted to drive.
"Ok, 1st things 1st, I need to get some good tunes
like Wheels on the Bus playin' up in here"
"Key in ignition: Check!
Check my rear view mirror: Check!"

"Ok, here I go"

"Hey, over there....look at me driving!"

"Always remember driving is a very serious matter!"
"I can't wait to drive again!"

These Shoes R Made 4 Walkin'

Skylar tried walking for the first time in shoes last weekend. She walked around like she had flippers on her feet at first, but got better eventually. The first place she went was to her drawers of course, where she loves to play with her clothes....especially her favorite pair of yellow and orange shorts.

Happy Fourth of July!

We spent the Fourth of July with my family in Alabama. Skylar had a great time crawling and walking in the open space, and of course going "outside, outside". She took several rides on the Mule (not the animal, but an automated cart like a large golf cart for those of you who may be wondering) through the red field. She was also really excited to see my Uncle's horse and goats.

That's Nana with her two favorite things: A Diet Mt.Dew and Me!

Our attempt at taking a family photo proved quite futile....after
what seemed like 100 photos, this one captured it beautifully!

On our trip back to C-Town Skylar watched her first movie,
The Little Mermaid, and snacked on Gold Fish crackers.
